Pour l’ancien membre de cabinet du Commissaire européen à l’énergie, Bruno Alomar, le nucléaire est une solution d’avenir. Pour justifier une telle affirmation, il souligne notamment les limites des énergies renouvelables et évoque la quatrième génération des réacteurs atomiques.
Bruno Alomar a été un conseiller du Commissaire européen à l’énergie, sous la présidence de Jose-Manuel Baroso. Formé à Sciences-Po, HEC et l’ENA, il est désormais maître de conférences à l’école de la rue Saint-Guillaume. Pour partager son expertise, il a aussi publié un article dans le journal économique La Tribune intitulé : « N’enterrez pas le nucléaire ! »
D’après ce spécialiste des questions énergétiques, l’atome représente une véritable solution pour assurer un développement durable. Selon lui, cette technologie doit contribuer à répondre à la demande en électricité des pays émergents, tout en limitant les émissions de CO2. Ainsi, alors que la Chine et l’Inde viennent de ratifier l’Accord de Paris sur le climat, les deux puissances comptent effectivement renforcer leur parc nucléaire.
Qui plus est, Bruno Alomar rappelle que les énergies renouvelables présentent plusieurs limites. Outre l’intermittence, il souligne la présence d’éléments « issus des terres rares, extrêmement polluants à produire et, pour le moment, pratiquement non-recyclables ». Enfin, il invite la France à conserver son avance dans la recherche nucléaire, estimant que la 4e génération est une « des clés du délicat équilibre entre développement et préservation ».
