Le 13 octobre, EDF a officialisé la création de sa filiale Sowee dédiée à la maison connectée du futur. Désormais, l’électricien propose d’exploiter les possibilités offertes par le numérique afin d’optimiser le pilotage de la consommation énergétique de son domicile.

Avec le lancement de la marque Sowee, Jean-Bernard Lévy fait entrer l’énergéticien tricolore dans l’ère du numérique. Pour l’occasion, une cérémonie était organisée à la Gaitée Lyrique, à Paris, durant laquelle le PDG a confié vouloir rapidement transformer la start-up afin qu’elle devienne « le numéro un de la maison connectée ». L’entreprise, qui regroupe 15 collaborateurs, s’est ainsi fixée pour objectif de doubler ses effectifs d’ici la fin de l’année 2016. Par ailleurs, elle compte équiper un million de foyers avec sa solution au cours des trente prochaines années.

Le produit sera commercialisé à partir de novembre 2016 et permettra de piloter sa consommation énergétique en fonction de la température intérieure souhaitée ou du budget dédié à ce poste de dépense. Avec un prix de départ à 45 euros, la directrice générale de Sowee, Tiphaine Bougeard, assure avoir l’intention de cibler le grand public et pas uniquement les technophiles.

Au total, un investissement de dix millions d’euros a été consacré à ce projet innovant et évolutif. En effet, la patronne de la structure explique que « nous allons progressivement agréger de nouveaux protocoles de communication à notre système, pour le rendre aussi universel que possible ». De son côté, la directrice de la branche clients particuliers du groupe, Sylvie Jéhanno, précise que l’idée n’est pas de commercialiser « une juxtaposition d’objets connectés mais une base globale du confort à la maison ». Autrement dit, « un hub évolutif autour duquel viendront progressivement se plugger de nouveaux services et appareils ».

Ainsi, une borne destinée aux véhicules électriques pourra par exemple être connectée à la station de pilotage dès 2017 tandis qu’un partenariat avec Samsung est actuellement à l’étude. D’ailleurs, la dimension environnementale se trouve également au cœur du projet, c’est pourquoi une offre d’électricité, « probablement de l’énergie verte » (énergies renouvelables et nucléaire), sera aussi proposée aux clients à partir de 2017.
