Exploitée par EDF, la centrale hydraulique de Revin se modernise afin de prolonger sa durée de fonctionnement. Depuis 2014 et le début des travaux, l’électricien a dépensé 15 millions d’euros afin notamment de rénover l’une des quatre turbines-pompes de l’installation. Alors que ces travaux vont se poursuivre jusqu’en 2020, 40 entreprises et 250 salariés devraient être mobilisés sur le chantier.

Comme le souligne le journaliste de l’Usine Nouvelle Pascal Rémy, la Station de Transfert d’Energie par Pompage (STEP) de Revin (Ardennes) est la troisième de France par sa puissance. Sur cette installation, où 800 MW sont disponibles en deux minutes, un grand chantier a été initié dès 2014. Dans un premier temps, 80 places de parking, 32 bungalows et un hangar de 400 mètres carrés ont été créés.

Depuis avril 2015, les 15 millions d’euros dépensés par l’énergéticien ont été utilisés pour rénover l’une des quatre turbines-pompes de la centrale de Revin. Entre 2014 et 2020, près de 100 millions d’euros seront ainsi dédiés à la modernisation de cette usine hydraulique, sans pour autant interrompre la production d’hydroélectricité.

A la fin des opérations, les quatre groupes réversibles « turbine-pompe » de 200 MW – pour un total de 350 tonnes – auront été rénovés. Au total, 40 entreprises, dont Alstom ou Andritz, et 250 salariés vont intervenir sur le site dirigé par Olivier Vidalinc, qui emploie actuellement 35 permanents et qui fut à l’origine de la production de près d’1 TWh en 2015.
